From the AIB, we are aware of the public health problem that suicide represents in our society. We believe that there is a need to work for planning and prevention.
Starting with the family grief and work towards normalizing this fact by talking about it without taboos and discussing solutions.
That is why on September 9 we participated in the conference on suicide prevention organized by the Barandilla association held at the Madrid Assembly (open), in which we had the opportunity to explain our work as well as our training as first intervenors in ongoing suicide emergencies.
We are working with the National Health Service, contributing with our personal experience as fire brigades,
This is a unique point of view and opportunity to link within the healthcare system, including the Mental Health Strategy for firefighters.
This strategy is to be included the Health Ministry and the relevant aspects that may occur in an emergency such as this one and also help to coordination between different social and emergency services to find the necessary measures for an event like these.
